Flash Fiction Fun: Barrage

The trajectory of the shot was short, but the damage sustained was nearly the same as if it’d been a direct hit. Innocent bystanders nervously waited as the bickering had proven their capacity for reciprocity. Thus, it was only a matter of time before another barrage hit, threatening to finish off what was left of their tenuous grip on propriety, and any semblance of a marriage.

Love it. Simple, straightforward, but complex in message. And in such tight writing. Good stuff.

I always hate to be witness to this. You expressed a lot of feeling with so few words.

This evokes the feeling I've had watching friends destroy marriages. Very nicely written. I thought about suggesting line breaks, but I dunno.

like how all the 3ww posts have been about family/friends. Guess that we bicker more than we let on.
